Wicks Estate Wines is a family owned and operated wine company producing hand crafted wines from their vineyard located at Woodside in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine growing regions. Co-founders Tim and Simon Wicks proudly front the Wicks Estate Label armed with a firm belief in long term success through dedication to excellence.

The Company’s outstanding achievements have positioned the Wicks Estate Brand where it is regarded as one of the Adelaide Hill’s finest wine producers.

At the May 2015 HOFEX show in Hong Kong, Wicks Estate's Chardonnay won the Best of the Show award.

Background Information:
The Wicks Family has a long history of involvement in agriculture with the Woodside Vineyard following on from their Orchard and Nursery operations at Highbury. In late 1999, the 54 hectare property at Woodside was chosen and purchased for its scenic location and suitability for premium wine grape production. The vineyard, planted to Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon was designed around the gentle undulating slopes studded with a number of ancient red gums and the Inverbrackie Creek that winds its course through the length of the property.

The winery is a ‘state of the art facility’ situated amongst the estate vineyard utilising Worlds best practice grape growing and winemaking procedures. This world class processing facility, completed in early 2004, was designed and constructed utilising a team of private and independent engineers, machinery manufacturers, winemakers and builders under the guidance of the Wicks family as project managers.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc fits perfectly with the “I want it now” consumer attitude. A strong varietal that drinks best whilst young and full of fruit intensity. Their intention, is to be one of the first new release Sauvignon Blancs available in the market. Aromas of tropical fruits and attractive varietal flavours are balanced by an elegant, lively palate finishing clean and crisp. An excellent example of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, and a consistent award winner.

Chardonnay

A modern expression of Cool Climate Chardonnay showing an elegant balance between fruit flavours and subtle savoury complexities. Delicate integration of French oak will have you converting to the new world style. Riesling

Riesling has a strong affinity for the cooler climes of the World, and it is therefore no surprise that it would produce wines of great character in the Adelaide Hills. Lifted floral aromas and the lively citrus fruit intensity are finely balanced by the tight structure and crisp natural acidity. A definite favourite amongst the staff.

Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

Synonymous with Cool Climate, Pinot Noir was introduced to the Estate range in 2012. In a short time, it’s achieved multiple Trophy success and industry acclaim. Fresh and vibrant, this Pinot Noir showcases fine, soft tannins with lifted cherry and bright red fruit aromas whilst savoury flavours and spice meld into the background. A fine expression of Pinot Noir, ready for immediate enjoyment but will also reward the patient collector.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Believe it... Full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from the Adelaide Hills. Estate grown, precisely planted, taking full advantage of the favourable conditions to ripen picture perfect clusters of tiny berries. This striking wine presents Cassis and dark fruit flavours expected from Cabernet, with subtle hints of tobacco and chocolate on the palate. After 12 months in French oak the soft silky tannins are finely balanced by the fruit flavours and subtle oak nuances.

Shiraz

One word... Moreish, apologies to Oxford dictionary for butchering the English language, but it truly is! A luscious, beautifully textured red wine, comfortable complementing the richest of winter fare, or savoured with friends relaxing on the deck in summer. Dark cherry and black fruit flavours, cool climate spice and elegance all gently integrate with fine silken tannins highlighting the careful selection of French oak barriques.

Eminence

“Eminence – a position of superiority, distinction, high rank, or fame”. Created in the most Australian of wine styles, only produced from vintages of exceptional wine quality. The blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon create a supremely stylish wine, with rich fruit flavours, long supple tannins and an elegant French oak persistence. A limited release, worthy of a place in your cellar, that is if it’s not already decanting for the evening.
