Thistle Hill

Thistle Hill is a family-owned vineyard and winery in the Erudgere Valley, which is just ten minutes’ drive from the town centre of Mudgee. Established in 1976, Thistle Hill is one of the oldest vineyards and wineries in the region and has been certified organic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) since 1993.

Their long-term organic status means the vineyard is free of all synthetic materials – including toxic pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers and systemic fungicides. These sustainable principles in the vineyard lead to more concentrated and well-balanced fruit each vintage, which in turn makes elegant, fruit-driven wines that speak for themselves – just as nature intended.

Chardonnay

Pear and grapefruit bouquet, nectarine on the palate, soft creamy characters, with a citrus finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine combining power with finesse, encompassing cassis and chocolate flavours with classy oak and a firm structure. Will benefit from extended cellaring. Low Preservative.

Preservative Free Shiraz

Deep crimson in colour with exceptional spice on the nose. This wine has perfectly balanced acidity with fleshy fruit of blueberry and plums with velvety tannis. No added preservatives.

Nine Bunches - Shiraz

The palate is immaculately structured and balanced, with blueberry, redcurrant and licorice flavours, leading to a long savoury finish. Perfect with barbequed butterflied leg of lamb, or an aged scotch fillet.

Nine Bunches - Riesling

Originating in the Rhine region of Germany, Riesling is an aromatic variety which displays perfumed and floral aromas. Their Riesling is in a classic style with spice and perfume aromas, with lime juice flavours on the palate, and a long lingering finish.
